At the very beginning of the 20th century, Walter M. Lowney and his brothers began a confectionery company which still has a footprint in Boston and Montreal to this day, greatly influenced the development of the town of Mansfield, Massachusetts, and had connections to Cracker Jacks and O'Henry bars.

Some Lowney's Chocolates products are still made by Hershey's of Canada.
